Standard singles courts are 9.75 m long and 6.4 m wide. The height to the front-wall line is 4.57 m.
The "tin" sits 480 mm high. For professional play this is reduced to 430 mm to increase difficulty.
Boundary (out) lines are always "out" — the ball is down if it strikes the line itself.
Standard racket: maximum length 686 mm, strung area no greater than 500 cm².
The ball: 40 mm diameter, double-yellow-dot for professional and competition play.
Eye protection is mandatory for junior players and in all doubles competition.
Matches are usually best of 5 games. Each game is played to 11 points; if the score reaches 10-all, play continues until one player leads by two clear points.
